Hastings traffic delays

Police are unsure what is causing traffic delays on Pakowhai Rd this morning.

Traffic is backing up along Pakowhai Rd this morning with wait times of up to 20 minutes.
A police spokesperson said the issue appeared to be centred around the Evenden Rd intersection, although they were not sure what was causing the hold up.
"There's nothing specific, but it's an unusual backlog for that area," the spokesman said. "We have had no crashes reported and no other reason we can see."
Police staff were monitoring the situation.
The Wheet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is taking place in Hastings this morning around the Frimley Park area, but it's not clear if this was part of the issue.
