Hawke's Bay police have released security camera footage of two men they allege stole a charity donation box from a petrol station.
Hawke's Bay Tactical Co-ordinator Inspector Andy Sloan said the theft was brazen, disgraceful and the "lowest of the low".
Security camera footage from the service station in Heretaunga St, Hastings, shows two people approaching the counter and asking to buy cigarettes. While the attendant turns around to get the cigarettes, one of the pair takes the charity donation box off the counter and stuffs it inside his hoodie.
He stands behind the first person, adjusting the charity box inside his hoodie even while his accomplice continues the transaction to buy the cigarettes.
