Dazzling performances showcased months of hard work by students from across Hawke's Bay for this year's Stage Challenge.
Held on Saturday at Napier's Municipal Theatre, the annual event saw schools from across Hawke's Bay and Gisborne take to the stage, with Taradale Intermediate awarded first place in the Open Division for their performance, True Reflection.
The piece centred on the importance of self-confidence and self-belief when developing maintaining a positive body image.
It followed a young girl entering a teen fashion parade, who begins to suffer from self-doubt, and starts to succumb "to the shadows in her mind".
However she is able to fight back, before finally realising "that the most important thing is to simply be herself".
