After the success of a previous combined schools' concert, Deco Bay Brass is thrilled to announce a short holiday workshop for beginner musicians (3 months to 2 years tuition) at the Deco Bay Brass band rooms in Orchard Rd, Hastings, from 9.30am to 12.30pm, Wednesday to Friday July 19-21 in the second week of the school holidays.
"This is an exciting opportunity for young, inexperienced musicians to play simple but rewarding music with other beginners from Napier and Hastings schools, in a fun environment," says course director Christopher Wilson.
"Adults welcome too! The course is open to players of all brass instruments, all wind instruments, string bass or bass guitar, percussion and drums (limited spaces available) and these players need to be a little more advanced. The programme will culminate with a short concert for family and friends. If you've already made some plans, come to the days that you can."
Cost is $15 each per day which can be paid electronically or in cash.
Mr Wilson is a professional brass player and teacher from the north of England, a local brass and wind itinerant and a fully qualified and registered New Zealand classroom teacher.
