Friends of a Woodville father killed when the light truck he was driving smashed into a milk train on Wednesday evening are finding it hard to come to terms with the tragedy.
The man, a firewood supplier, whose name had not yet been released, died at the Powdrell Rd level crossing just before 5pm when his truck, laden with firewood, hit a southbound milk train.
He was a father of primary school-age children.
"We're shocked," said a friend who didn't want to be named.
"I'd only seen him and his wife and family in a cafe in town that day."
