Family and friends are rallying together for Kirsty Webb who has gone to Germany for treatment to fight stage four breast cancer.

Kareena Kelly and Mandy Stork have launched Corks for Life, a fundraising evening to be held at Off the Track next week.

"Because she is on the other side of the world we are not there to hold her hand so we wanted to do something helpful here."

Ms Stork said the evening was for people to get together and have a fun time while raising funds to help cover some of Ms Webb's treatment.

"There will be a glass of champagne or a bottle of beer on arrival and there will be flowing nibbles and a performance by cabaret starlight, which will be really cool."

Ms Webb, a mother-of-two , was first diagnosed with cancer in 2012, and by January 2014 had developed stage four breast cancer, which metastasised to her bones including hips, legs, knees, and spine.

She is now on her third trip to Germany and Ms Stork said they wanted to be able to help her spend more time with her children.

"She went to a clinic in Germany for radical treatment, which kept her stable for another two years so we want her back there and getting the same treatment."

Local businesses from around Hawke's Bay have jumped on board and supplied a number of gifts with everything from a corporate racing package to accommodation and fine dining.

"We used to go to coffee every morning at Maina so they have kindly donated dinner vouchers and other bits and pieces, which is really special."

Ms Stork said Ms Webb also enjoyed her wine so they had received a lot of wine and champagne donations from a variety of businesses.

"We have had so many local businesses offer products to the auction, it is heartwarming and there is a lot of love to share. We are so grateful and want to thank you all for your support."

Auction items include an Andrea Moore handbag, eight riding lessons, Cape South day clinic, a night at East Pier, a Coastal Wine Bike Tour, a corporate box at the races, an Unio pendant and much more.

The evening will kick off at 6pm next Thursdayand tickets are available via Eventfinder under Corks for Life. The donated goods will be auctioned off by Hawke's Bay CEO Andrew Castles.

"It is all for Kirsty and we just want all her friends to be able to do something here while she is on the other side of the world going through a tough time."

From Germany, Ms Webb said she had been touched by the "extreme kindness and support of her community".
