Tukituki MP Craig Foss says his official campaign launch marked an increase in the intensity of his bid to keep his electorate.

About 70 people gathered at Peak Restaurant, Havelock North, for Mr Foss' official campaign launch on Saturday night.

Guests included National's Napier candidate Wayne Walford and his campaign team, and National Party volunteers.

Mr Foss said the event was a chance to celebrate his campaign volunteers, who had helped with hoardings and distributing pamphlets.

The official campaign launch signified an increase in the intensity of Mr Foss' campaign although he had already been out door knocking.
