A busload of Hawke's Bay fans is bound for Wellington on Friday to watch the New Zealand v Myanmar and Austria v Argentina games.
Fifa local organising committee Bay rep Barrie Hughes said last night from Karori it would cost fans $50 to hop on the trip from the new Napier bus station in Carlyle St and the Russell St bus stop in Hastings.
"I know heaps of people are already down here for tomorrow's [today's] games," said Hughes, who reflected on the Bay's involvement with the Ghana team during the Fifa Under-17 World Cup in 1999.
"Many football supporters will remember Ghana arrived here [Napier] but their kit didn't," he said, adding the Napier City Rovers Club went to their rescue with their training strip.
One of his most enduring moments was when Ghana midfielder Michael Essien went on to sign for Chelsea as one of their most expensive players before moving to Real Madrid.
