Hastings City New World was closed on Sunday but results could be checked at any Lotto outlet, online at MyLotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ app.
Powerball was not struck, so rolls over to Wednesday night, where the jackpot will be $7.5 million.
Strike Four also rolled over and will be $500,000 on Wednesday.
Two weeks ago a regular Lotto customer of Clive Four Square won $2 million, his share of the $8 million jackpot prize that was split between four ticketholders from throughout the country.
Shop owner Hong Zhang said the man who held the winning ticket stopped in to check it on his way to work.
"He knew he was a winner - but he thought he might have won $2000 - he didn't know that he had won big."
Ms Zhang said that while the man was there he had filled out the documentation to send to Auckland in order to claim his prize.
"He was shaking and it took him a while."
A Lotto player for many years, he had also won a minor prize last year, she said.
While Clive Four Square has had other Lotto successes in recent times it has a long way to go before it can match Unichem at Stortford Lodge, the luckiest Lotto store in the country with 43 First Division winning tickets sold.
