Hawke's Bay folk are being invited to take one last look at the one last member of Air New Zealand's Boeing 737 fleet after nearly half-a-century of service when it calls in on Wednesday morning as part of a farewell tour of the country.
To pay tribute to the 737, Air New Zealand is staging a series of farewell events around the country as well as community open days at some of the country's regional airports - including Hawke's Bay Airport.
The aircraft will be on show from 10am to 2pm and will provide a unique chance for members of the public to get up close and personal to it.
To check out the cockpit and the full interior and chat to the crew.
It was the National Airways Corporation (NAC)- which merged with Air New Zealand in 1978 - which took delivery of the first 737-200 in September 1968.
