A late donation from Charlie Hill Ltd has pushed the final Christmas Cheer Appeal cash tally past the $14,500 mark.
The company has been a solid supporter of the Hawke's Bay Today-driven appeal through the years and this year came through with $200.
As Napier appeal co-ordinator Michel Glogoski said, the cash fund is so essential because it pays the bills for the thousands of bulk food items bought to make up the many parcels.
Between Napier and Hastings around 850 parcels had been put together.
And as in past years, some late parcels would also be put together.
