Napier City Council is calling for feedback from the public on the release of its draft master plan for the Ahuriri Estuary and coastal edge.
The document provides a 30-year vision for the built and natural environment of Ahuriri with plans to improve stormwater treatment and extend recreation pathways as two of the 36 proposed projects.
Council manager city development Paulina Wilhelm said they're all aimed at improving water quality, encouraging appropriate activities, and creating a resilient estuary environment.
The Ahuriri Estuary is a "precious" environment valued by locals and tourists and is under increasing pressure from all users.
Ms Wilhelm said as a result, the master plan had a direct relationship to any who lived, worked or owned a business in Napier.
