Flower fanatics from across Hawke's Bay came together at the weekend to celebrate the wonders on display at the annual dahlia show.
Hosted by Hawke's Bay Dahlia Circle, the event showcases the achievements of local dahlia growers and was held at Tamatea Intermediate Hall on Saturday.
It was a sea of colour, with flowers ranging in size from golf balls to an adult's head.
Although recent winds and dry conditions had not been kind to dahlia growers, they had not been enough to dampen the spirits of flower fans, club member Doreen Noble said.
"There wasn't a lot of displays because of the weather. We had quite a good turnout but the flowers were a bit sparse.
