Emergency services were called to Awatoto on Thursday afternoon following a car crash.
A police spokesperson confirmed they were called to the Awatoto scene at the intersection of Kenny Rd and Eriksen Rd just before 4.30pm.
She said the crash involved two vehicles.
It was orginially thought one person was trapped in a vehicle, but a spokesperson for Fire and Emergency New Zealand said this turned out not to be true.
