4. Bostock New Zealand Spring Carnival Livamol Classic, Hawke's Bay Racing Centre
The finale of the Bostock New Zealand Spring Racing Carnival kicks off today from 11am, with the first race at 12.37pm and the last at 6pm. 5. 2017 Hawke's Bay Cellar Door of The Year Challenge, Hawke's Bay A&P Showgrounds
While continuing to recognise service and excellence at the Cellar Door, the 2017 Hawke's Bay Cellar Door of the Year Award will reflect the overall performance of the winery rather than an individual. The challenge will see the top six finalists vie for the top three places. Come along to the Farmers' Market and support cellar doors. They will have challenges to complete and then sell themselves in their pop-up cellar door, with the public voting for their favourite. The market runs from 8.30am until 12.30pm.
6. Eb & Sparrow Showcase, Crystal Palace Spiegeltent, Havelock North
As part of the Harcourts Hawke's Bay Arts Festival, Eb & Sparrow will deliver their critically acclaimed, full-band experience. Their live performances combine folk-noir, alt-country and old-time soul with a rockin' edge, guaranteed to raise the roof of the Spiegeltent. After stealing hearts north and south, the band are winding the tour trail back to the childhood home of Hawke's Bay, where their album Sun/Son was recorded - fittingly in a Te Awanga woolshed.
