Hawke's Bay Today is about to get even better, with some exciting new features planned for your favourite paper.
A major change has already occurred. From the beginning of this month, Hawke's Bay Today has been printed at Beacon Print's new print site in Wilson Road, Hastings. Not only does this open up many opportunities to improve the paper, but it is also good news for Hastings. The new site will, from next month, also print our sister papers, Wairarapa Times-Age and the Wanganui Chronicle.
The good news for readers and advertisers is we have finally said goodbye to black and white pages. The new press has the capacity to print enough colour pages for the paper. The paper is also being printed in one run, which means later deadlines and changes to the make-up of the paper. We plan to introduce the changes in two weeks time and will be telling you more in the weeks leading up to it. However, one thing I can tell you now is that your favourite television guide, Vibe, will be moving from a Thursday to Wednesday from October 30. It will also get a bit of a facelift, but everything you love about it including the television listings, will still be there - just on a Wednesday instead of a Thursday.
Our rural lift-out Heartland will remain as part of Thursday's paper, but we also have some exciting new things planned for that day. More on that later.
Saturday's paper is going to be a reader's delight. We will have more local news up front and a third opinion page. We will also have a bumper business section and more space for world features.
