The reaction to Hawke's Bay Today's new compact look has been overwhelmingly positive.
People love the bold design and the easy-to-read format and that there is more local content. We have received many calls, emails, tweets and texts. Thank you to everyone who took the time to do so.
The biggest complaint we had was from a few people who were upset that we had dropped cartoon strip Calvin and Hobbes. We apologise and I hope you noticed that we gave you a double dose of it today on Page 5.
We are happy with the new look, but as always there are small things that need to be sorted. We will keep looking to improve the paper and we welcome any feedback from our readers.
It was a good day at the office and it was made even more special when Ngahiwi Tomoana, the chairman of Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated, and his staff members came and held a special karakia in our press hall. It was a very kind gesture and was greatly appreciated by all Hawke's Bay Today staff members.
