There's been a magic groundswell of community support for the subjects of two recent stories run by this newspaper.
Last week we ran a piece on 87-year-old retired retailer and orchardist David Geor, who was kidnapped in the Countdown Hastings carpark by a two offenders. They then forced him to let them take money from his bank account before abandoning him trapped in the back of his hatchback in another car park.
For obvious reasons the story and his plight touched a nerve in the community.
