And so, it appears, a new major feature is being planned to be staged in New Zealand.
More than that, it could be set up here in the Bay.
While not completely in possession of all the finer points and details, my understanding is that it carries the working title of "Meet the Frackers."
The story of a large American family who want to strike it rich in a faraway land - a land which they suspect contains great oily and gassy riches deep under the ground.
From what I've been told about the script, there is a continuing theme throughout the planned production which its creators hope will become as iconic as Clint Eastwood's 'Dirty Harry' line - "go ahead, make my day".
In this one, it has members of the zany Frackers clan declaring throughout (at opportune times) "You know the drill!"
Of course like any disruption to normality, there are many who don't want the production based around these parts, and already petitions are flying and consultations are being staged.
The Fracker family may bring jobs and a boost to the economy, but no one really knows the cost, as back in the US they tend to keep things kind of secretive, and of course big productions can often leave a big mess.
Want to meet the Frackers?
Personally, I suspect a growing number out there think the government should just stick to meeting hobbits.
