I'd like to exercise more but that's difficult because I'm too busy in the morning and when I get home at night I can't resist a glass of wine and a snack.
I could drink less wine and eat fewer snacks but then my wifewould have to consume the lot and that would be fattening which would make her unhappy.
What about a vow to eat only healthy snacks such as carrot sticks and low-fat yoghurt dips? That's a somewhat austere way to start 2012. No thanks.
Support more Hawke's Bay businesses? Sounds suspiciously like the food and wine theme again. It's always about the food and wine in Hawke's Bay.
I could mow my own lawns for the exercise but that would mean sacking the lawn guy and our unemployment rate is already high. Bad karma there.
Give up the cigarettes now that they are going up in price again. That's a good one. Problem is I'd have to start smoking in order to quit and I've got only the rest of today to become addicted.
Cook more meals for the family? I already do all the cooking so can't see that one flying.
Perhaps the best thing for me is to try and do better by others. I could start at home. What would make my wife happy?
Coming home from work earlier every night would definitely make my wife happy.
But then I'd have no excuse for not exercising.
