Mrs Leach said there were around 15 people at the house under the age of 20 when the damage occurred.
"Both youths were arrested and one was released while the other spent the night in Palmerston North jail for breaching his curfew. He will be referred to Youth Aid."
Mrs Leach said another party at a High St house resulted in two people being taken to Palmerston North Hospital after one was allegedly stabbed in the shoulder with a broken bottle.
"We have been told the male victim was stabbed with a bottle but we are unable to confirm it, as everyone attending the party was unco-operative. There were about 40 people outside the property when fighting broke out around 1.30am. One male was hit several times and suffered cuts to his shoulder."
Mrs Leach said alcohol was a major factor in the fighting but no arrests where made as no one was prepared to talk to police. The two people injured were treated and discharged. Neither has come forward with information.
"We are appealing to anyone who was at the party to come forward with information. This can be done confidentially through CrimeStoppers," Mrs Leach said.
On Sunday, a four car pile-up was reported outside McDonald's restaurant is High St. Mrs Leach said it appeared a tourist campervan had stopped and indicated to turn into the Mobil service station when the crash occurred.
"Two cars behind the campervan stopped but a third came up behind them and hit the second vehicle, which then hit the vehicle in front. A fourth car has then come along and the driver has tried to evade the cars but ended up hitting the third vehicle."
The driver of the campervan had no idea what had occurred behind him and continued on into the petrol station, where he filled up and carried on his journey, Mrs Leach said. No injuries were reported.
At 10.30pm on Sunday a 28-year-old man, who is facing drug-related charges, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his partner.
"He has grabbed his partner by the hair and dragged her inside, where he punched her three times in the face. The victim suffered bruising," Mrs Leach said.
The man appeared in the Palmerston North District Court on Monday and was remanded in custody until he reappears in court on January 30.
Volunteers from the Dannevirke, Akitio and Pongaroa fire brigades were called to a crash on River Rd on Sunday. "A car had hit the bank and a person with minor injuries was taken by the Pongaroa St John Ambulance to Palmerston North Hospital," said Dannevirke fire chief Mike Finucane.
