Hawkes Bay is in for a mostly fine weekend but should expect the odd splash of rain this morning.
The twin cities will be mostly cloudy with a chance morning shower, then becoming fine later today with light winds and afternoon sea breezes.
Both Hastings and Napier will hit highs of 18C.
The MetService said both cities were forecast to reach 19C tomorrow with cloud increasing and northeasterlies.
In Mahia today cloudy periods were expected to mix with isolated showers, which would become heavier and more frequent inland in the afternoon, but clearing to mainly fine about the coast. Northeasterly breezes were also on the way amid a high of 16C.
