Westpac and the Sir Peter Blake Trust are opening the Dream Bank vault today after thousands of Kiwi kids shared their dreams during the past month.
As part of the trust's annual Red Socks Day celebrations 5 to 18-year-olds were asked to share via an online portal what they had hoped to achieve in life for themselves and the country.
Hawke's Bay received hundreds of submissions with children saying they aspired to be great gymnasts, a part of animal rescue, and in the top New Zealand sport teams.
Westpac marketing general manager Andrew Kerr said the aim of the Dream Bank was to give young Kiwis the opportunity to take the first step towards achieving their dreams, by writing them down, talking about them and sharing them with others.
"Kiwi kids used tools and resources, like inspiring leader videos and a Dream Action Plan, to begin making their dreams a reality.
