Travel delays can be expected across most main highways through Hawke's Bay this week as contractors work to finish off annual sealing, repair and road marker re-painting programmes.
The works have been disrupted over recent weeks by rain although the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) is still targeting to have the works wrapped up by the end of the month.
Rain has also disrupted the removal of roadside trees on the SH2 stretch between Tutira and the Devil's Elbow.
It is one of two tree removal programmes presently under way - the other being on the stretch near Wairoa College.
When the trees are dropped there will be delays of up to five minutes.
