Deco devotees shed their winter worries with a knees-up at Friday night's Grand Anniversary Dance in Napier.
The short but sassy little sister of February's Tremains Art Deco Weekend began yesterday, with people flocking to the region for their fix.
"We find once somebody has been to a deco event, they fall in love - they're hooked," Art Deco Trust manager Sally Jackson said.
Hawke's Bay Toyota Winter Art Deco Weekend was a double celebration, with Friday night's ball at the War Memorial Conference Centre not only kicking things off but saying "cheers" to the Art Deco Trust's 30th birthday.
Trust events manager Jonathan Smith said more than 20 new events would be included over three days, for what he hoped would be the biggest and best winter Deco event yet. There are dances, vintage railcar rides, high teas, a casino evening, costumes, cars and a silver-screen star dinner.
