As temperatures rose to 20C, conditions for the annual Dannevirke High School cross country were perfect.

With 160 students taking part - the majority from the dedicated Grant House, urged on by passionate Grant teacher Pam Menzies - the senior boys completed a 5km circuit, intermediate boys 4km, and junior boys and all girls entered 3km.

Predictions were that Grant House would be hard to beat in the race for inter-house points, but final placings weren't yet known.
