A Napier City councillor's son could face jail time after a New Year's Eve incident where he attacked three people at a party on Marine Parade.
Donovan Gene Hannay was found guilty in Napier District Court yesterday of two counts of wounding with reckless disregard and one count of assaulting a female.
The 24-year-old is the son of Napier city councillor Michelle Pyke.
In the early hours of January 1 this year, Hannay became involved in a confrontation at the party and was asked to leave by a woman. The dispute quickly escalated and Hannay became embroiled in a physical confrontation where he lashed out striking the woman and a man with a glass bottle.
The attack left the female with a 4cm laceration above her right eyebrow, requiring seven stitches, while the male victim received a 3cm gash to the back of his head and required four staples.
