A Napier City Council offer to sell the leasehold land occupied by pioneering West Quay bar and restaurant Shed 2 is about to hit the council table again - 12 years after the offer was withdrawn.
The letter accompanies a submission from Shed 2 director Dennis Buckley, to be heard by a full council committee on December 20, hearing submissions on council's investment policy on its investment property.
The council received 27 submissions and Mr Buckley is one of 15 intending speaking to their submissions at what is likely to be a full-day hearing.
The offer to sell the freehold interest in 56 West Quay for $162,000 was made in a letter from council property officer Brian Hollands to Mr Buckley dated July 11, 2001, seeking a five per cent deposit with a signed document accepting the arrangement.
"Forwarding the completed acceptance to the Council will constitute a binding agreement between the Council and yourself," said the letter, a copy of which has been provided to Hawke's Bay Today.
