Local quilters have lovingly crafted more than 100 intricate designs for a display to raise funds for World Palliative Care Day.
The display is being shown at the Hawke's Bay Hospital's Harding Hall after countless hours of work by the Taradale Village Quilters, some of the finest in the region.
Palliative care is a specialised area of healthcare that focuses on relieving and preventing the suffering of patients, and the global day of celebration is tomorrow.
Palliative care clinical nurse specialist Gloria Morgan said having quilters display their work for World Palliative Care Day had a special significance.
"This display means so much to us as quilts provide so much comfort to our patients," she said.
