About 750 beer and cider enthusiasts flocked to Havelock North's Duart House yesterday for the Beer Appreciation Day VIII.
OrganiserJim Poppelwell said the event had received lots of positive comments from people, who loved not only the beer and cider, but also the music and food as well.
"It is pretty much the only event in Hawke's Bay where you can taste not only a comprehensive selection of locally brewed beers and ciders from the region but also a great selection of medal-winning brews from outside the Hawke's Bay."

It was held at the gardens of the Duart House in Havelock North and was accompanied by live music, DJ tunes and delicious kai from Paella-a-go-go and DCBBQ.
Mr Poppelwell said the weather held up, with plenty of sun and shade for all who attended, making for a great day.
Mr Poppelwell said there were 19 stalls and he believed the brewers had put a lot of effort into their craft.
The event featured the BAD Apples area, offering a selection of New Zealand's finest craft ciders.
Local brews were complemented by a large selection of outstanding beers from the rest of New Zealand and beyond, as well as special one-off BAD brews, Mr Poppelwell said.
Stalls included those from Zeffer Cider, Three Wise Birds Cider, Paynter's Cider, Edgebrook Cider, Zeelandt Brewery, Napier Brewing Co, GodsOwn Brewery, Giant Brewing Co., Deco City Beer, Crazy Bay Beer and Brave Brewing Co.
Beer Appreciation Day started in 2011 by two enthusiastic beer appreciators.
