Uetaha Dahtanian Ransfield-Wanoa died in October in the tragic tractor-mower accident.

Uetaha Dahtanian Ransfield-Wanoa died in October in the tragic tractor-mower accident.

A 72-year-old man has been charged with reckless driving causing death after a 4-year-old boy was killed by a lawnmower in Hastings last October.

The boy, Uetaha Dahtanian Ransfield-Wanoay, who was described by family at the time as "clever'' and "bubbly'', was playing at Kirkpatrick Park in Camberley.

At the time police said they understood the boy had been playing with older cousins when he was hit by a Hastings District Council tractor towing a rotary mower.

The accused will appear before Hastings District Court on February 12.
