A popular Napier Hill historical walk with a difference is set to get under way again next month.
Locals and visitors are being invited to learn about the city's colourful and often tragic past with the return of MTG Hawke's Bay's Napier Hill Cemetery tours.
The tours were first sparked six years ago by MTG collection assistant archives Gail Pope and award-winning author and historian Peter Wells and have become a popular annual summer attraction.
The grave sites tell the stories of Napier and the Bay's early colonists, from the famous to the infamous.
Such as the unfortunate person who fell under the wheels of a train after a high-spirited picnic, and sailors who died aboard ships.
