At least six people escaped serious injuries in a spate of Sunday-afternoon crashes in or near Napier.
The incidents involved a car crashing through an intersection and onto a private property in suburban Napier, a minor collision involving a car and a mobility scooter, and a vehicle with at least four occupants leaving State Highway 5 northwest of Napier and crashing down a bank.
The first happened when a car driven by a young woman to the west on Bledisloe Rd, Maraenui, clipped a traffic island at the intersection with Riverbend Rd, crossed the road, sliced between a letterbox on one side and a ground-level wiring fixture at the driveway entrance to one property and crashjed through shrubs onto a property next door.
She was understood to have been assessed by a St John Ambulance Service crew at the scene.
Police confirmed later there had been just the one occupant in the car .
