As fans flock to Napier's McLean Park for Hawke's Bay's first Cricket World Cup match today, many will have a free water bottle in tow as part of a safe-drinking campaign.
During the live entertainment in Marine Parade's Sound Shell Fanzone from 10am, ahead of today's United Arab Emirates vs Pakistan match at 2pm, Hawke's Bay District Health Board (DHB) and Napier City Council representatives will be handing out goodie bags including empty water bottles.
They will also be at the Sound Shell this Saturday as visitors arrive for the following day's Black Caps clash with Afghanistan.
On the day of the match they will be on the Fan Trail at the corner of Latham and Morris streets, near the Afghani performers.
A total of 900 packs will be handed out, featuring the water bottles and other material promoting the safe-drinking campaign, "One for One".
