For people interested in taking a punt the prestigious Bay Ford Punter of the Year is back for its 29th year.
Mr Castles said they had already received up to 90 registrations and expected more before the racing kicked off.
"Tony Clark has won for the last two years so he has entered again to defend his title."
Mr Castles said the day is fast becoming A Hawke's Bay event that is not to be missed.
"There is plenty of entertainment and fun to be had and hopefully people can back a winner or two as the day goes on."
