Hawke's Bay residents are among the most immunised in the country, the latest government health target quarterly results show.
Hawke's Bay is among five of the country's district health boards to reach the 95 per cent benchmark, and has also achieved 100 per cent coverage for Pacific children.
Hawke's Bay DHB Director of Population Health, Dr Caroline McElnay, said the targets were achieved by "hard work and focus" and meant local communities were safer.
"Health professionals working together, in general practices, hospital and community settings, has meant Hawke's Bay is consistently one of the top performing areas against this target," she said.
Health professionals in the region take every opportunity to ensure every child is vaccinated.
