Trinity Hill Winery from the Gimblett Gravels area of Hawke's Bay has accomplished "a significant achievement" with a ranking of 11th in James Suckling's Annual Top 100 wines of the year.
Suckling is an influential US wine critic with three decades of experience as a wine journalist.
His website JamesSuckling.com focuses on reviewing many of the best wines of the world through videos in vineyards and cellars with winemakers, vintners, and owners.
In addition to placing 11th, the 2010 Trinity Hill Homage received 98 points and the commentary: "The wine by which all other top-tier New Zealand syrah wines have always been judged, this has impressive depth and ripeness, tapping into a spectrum of concentrated dark and red fruits more deeply and more profoundly than most."
