Shoppers and the OfficeMax retail chain have given 10 Hawke's Bay schools a boost of more than $13,000 to share this year as a result of a rewards scheme the company set up in 2005.
Since then schools across the Bay have benefited to the tune of about $136,000 through the programme.
OfficeMax general manager of education Blair Horsfall said the company felt it was important to help communities and delighted to be able to make meaningful contributions to Hawke's Bay schools.
"There's nothing better than the feeling of giving back."
Nationally the Schools Rewards programme has raised more than $4 million since it was set up.
