He babysat again a few nights later, performing the same act.
On the third night, he entered her room, removed his pants and climbed into her bed - but the girl's brother came out of his room to use the bathroom and Pakai hid in her wardrobe.
When her brother returned to her room, Pakai climbed out of the closet, grabbed his pants and left the room.
The young girl tried to defend herself on Pakai's next attempt, pulling a knife on him when he entered her room.
He didn't touch her, but stayed on her bed until her parents came home from work.
On another occasion he was sitting on the couch with the girl, when her mother walked in and saw him touching her inappropriately.
The victim approached the police last year about what Pakai had done to her when she was young.
When police approached him, he refused to be interviewed.
Pakai offended again in May last year while he was sharing a house with others.
He slept on a mattress, only metres from a young boy who shared a double bed with his mother.
Pakai came home at about 11pm and walked into the lounge where the pair was sleeping.
He leaned over and kissed the boy in a "passionate manner" before the mother turned over after she heard the sound of kissing.
She "hit out" at Pakai before he left the house.
When he was spoken to by police he told them he was drunk "and couldn't stand properly".
He also told them he went to wake the pair and fell forward and that he was going to kiss the boy on the head, but couldn't stand properly.
He was jailed for seven years and has been placed on the Child Sex Register.
