A unique Art Deco-inspired burlesque show which will feature as part of the Winter Deco Weekend, which kicks off on July 14, will be unveiled in Napier before being staged at other centres.
"This is where it gets stress tested," was how Matt Wiseman from Glory Days, the production company which has put the Speakeasy Burlesque event together, put it.
"It is going to be great because we have a lot of talented people and there are going to be some great performances - this will be international-class."
It will be the second year the Speakeasy Burlesque has been a feature of the mid-winter Deco celebrations with events director Glen Pickering describing it as a perfect fit, as this year's event was being embraced as the "sophisticated and stylish" front of Art Deco.
The Glory Days crew had their first brush with Art Deco during the summer event when they were part of the Gin Tent attraction, with the trust's general manager at the time Sally Jackson asking if they would considered spreading the colours of burlesque to a full show.
