A screwdriver was used to threaten staff members at Frederick St Dairy in Hastings this afternoon.
Senior Sergeant Mark Clayton said at 4.40pm, two male Māori in their 20s entered Palms Store, armed with a weapon, physically removed the till and decamped from the scene.
"There were no injuries and the staff member has been offered victim support. The CIB also did a scene examination at the address."
"A silver SUV type Japanese vehicle was seen leaving the scene at haste and the enquiry is on-going," Clayton said.
This incident is the latest in a spate of robberies occuring around Hawke's Bay within the past few months.
