April will be the wettest in 30 years, Norsewood weather-watcher Lyn McConchie says.
"So far this month we're sitting on 243mm of rain, with more promised, so I think April is going to be the wettest month in my 30 years of recording," she said.
"Cyclone Cook was something of a beat-up, although it was good we were warned.
"Other places certainly seem to have been hit a lot harder, but if the winds here in Norsewood got to 100 kilometres an hour, let-alone the 150km/h predicted, I'd be surprised."
However, out towards the coast strong winds were enough to blow down a large pine tree, blocking the Weber/Herbertville Rd on Good Friday, as PGG Wrightson's real estate consultant Hugh Crawford arrived to take his dogs for a beach walk.
