Or, a shorter McDonalds 8km fun walk/fun run will take place starting at Grange Rd Haumoana following the limestone trail over Black Bridge and continuing to Farndon Park - estimated to take one to one and a half hours.
The competitive section of the event is the Hillmac Electrical 21.1km half marathon for runners only.
This starts at Puketapu School and follows the limestone trail to the Tutaekuri river mouth, across the Ngaruroro River bridge, finishing at Farndon Park.
A trophy will be awarded to the fastest male and the fastest female in this measured and timed race, that although not certified was billed as the perfect warm up for competitors in this year's Hawke's Bay International Marathon on May 13.
With all events ending at Farndon Park, this area will have a village atmosphere for competitors and spectators to enjoy music, entertainment and refreshments.
There will be spot prizes as well as six main prizes given away, including a cycle sponsored by iWay.
Registrations, which can be lodged on the Country2Coast website, are due this Thursday, April 27 but late registrations will be accepted on Saturday, April 29 at the Havelock North Function Centre or at the Farndon Park late registration tent.
The cost is $30 for adults aged over 13, $20 for children aged five to 12, children under five free.
Money raised from the event is donated each year, and last year $7500 was distributed to organisations helping out Hawke's Bay communities.
The Havelock North Rotary Club donated to the Salvation Army's emergency response unit, the Anderson Park community group, and the Hastings Giants boxing academy.
National organisation Ronald McDonald house also benefited from the Rotary club's donation of $5 from the entry fee of every child entered.
