A milestone in Cranford Hospice's history was marked yesterday, when the specialist palliative care service was gifted to the Hawke's Bay community.
Since the service was established 35 years ago by Presbyterian Support East Coast (PSEC), it has provided quality palliative care to the people of Hawke's Bay.
Yesterday board members from PSEC, Cranford Hospice Trust and Cranford Hospice Foundation Trust signed documents confirming PSEC's gift of Cranford Hospice to the community.
This will see Cranford Hospice become a standalone charity, and allow both the specialist palliative care service and PSEC to focus on their core businesses.
