Hawke's Bay has plenty of events for all ages and interests to enjoy. We list seven of the best on offer this weekend.

1. Saturday Night Sessions

It's that time again when Crab Farm Winery comes alive on a Saturday evening for an informal and relaxed event. The winery hosts musicians for the sessions and removes most of the tables to make room for dancing. Tonight White Chapel Jak, Tropical Downbeat Orchestra and Akina Vinyl Appreciation Society will be entertaining the crowd. Adding to the music will be a bar service with Crab Farm wines, beers and spirits on offer. Tickets cost $15 per person with limited pre-sales and door sales. The event is R18 and there is no BYO.

2. Music at The Common Room

Tonight is your chance to see two of New Zealand's hottest folk acts, who have teamed up for a mini-tour of the North Island. For one weekend only, Looking For Alaska and Albi & The Wolves will be piling into a van and heading to Gisborne, Hastings and Rotorua to take the stage for battle. Performing at Hastings' Common Room, the music will start at 8pm. Pre-sale tickets are $15 and limited door sales will be available for $20 on the night. Pre-sales available online from eventfinda.co.nz

3. Home Composting for Beginners

Those up for a practical way to spend a Saturday morning can look no further than a composting workshop run at EIT in Taradale. Today from 10am to noon a workshop run by Environment Centre Hawke's Bay will offer you the chance to learn how to capture nutrients from organic waste to return it as fertiliser for your garden. The workshop covers siting, what to compost, when to compost, pest control and comprehensive notes to take away. Admission is free and this is an all-ages event.

4. One Night of Queen

Performed by Gary Mullen and The Works, One Night of Queen is a spectacular live concert that recreates the look, sound, pomp and showmanship of one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Ever madly danced to I Want to Break Free, A Kind of Magic, We Will Rock You or Bohemian Rhapsody? Well, this is the event for you. At the Napier Municipal Theatre, tonight from 8pm to 10.30pm. The R13 event's tickets are priced at $89.

5. Dance, Drum and Sing with Bismark

Jennifer Moss Music is proud to be bringing the king of spicy moves and grooves, Bismark Kofi Danyo from West Africa, to Napier. In an all-abilities workshop for drum, dance and song this professional dancer will inspire and teach his own culture. For the workshop to be viable a minimum number of participants are needed, so those interested are encouraged to email play@jennifersmusic.co.nz as soon as possible. At Napier Intermediate School from 10.30am to 2.45pm today, this is an all-ages event and admission is $30. Door sales only.

6. The Toner Sisters With Tom Sharplin

Since their successful show in 2016, The Toner Sisters have had a whirlwind year, appearing at concerts and festivals nationwide. Tomorrow they return to the Napier Municipal Theatre with their Encore show, A Wee Bit Country - A Wee Bit Rock 'n' Roll. With special guest Tom Sharplin, this will be a family celebration of love, laughter and music. The all-ages show will run from 4pm to 6pm. To buy tickets, phone 0800 842 538.

7. Barry Stewart Hypnotist Show

This fundraiser is set to be a fun afternoon filled with laughter, food, raffles and prizes. At only $12.50 a ticket, funds raised will go toward Cheer Dynamix Hawke's Bay and help athletes get to competitiosn. Limited seats are available, so email Kath or Carol at hawkesbaycheerleading@gmail.com to secure your spot. This event will be held at 1.30pm tomorrow at the Omarunui Bowling Club.
