More than 50,000 people are expected through the Hawke's Bay Showgrounds gates as sport, entertainment and shopping fills Horse of the Year (HOY) 2017.
Set to begin next Tuesday, March 7, the show will feature events such as the Friday Night Extravaganza, Woodford House Cross Country Brunch and Olympic Cup.
With the competitions heating up during the course of the week, the Friday, Saturday and Sunday are expected to draw large crowds.
HOY event director Dave Mee said organisers were looking forward to a great show with plenty for everyone to see and do both inside and outside of the arenas.
On the Friday the Silver Fern Stakes is expected to get under way at 4pm, featuring some of the best show-jumping combinations in New Zealand including Katie Laurie and Olympian Clarke Johnstone.
