I can forgive you if on Friday night you were thinking there was no way it would be going ahead - but the contrary weather decided on the day to clear and despite the cooler breeze, it was great to see so much community support and excited kids' faces at this annual event.
Every year I think the floats and entries can't get any better, but we were blown away with the detail and what must have been many many hours of work that went into them.
I'm sure it's a great team exercise and bonding experience for the businesses and community groups and a chance to get everyone involved and stretch those creative minds.
Special mention to the People's Choice winner, Bay Batucada, who gave us the awesome beats and kept great time on the day. Really added to the upbeat vibe of the parade.
Speaking of vibes and beats - is there anyone who isn't insanely excited about our station name change yesterday, or more precisely, the reason for it? Bruce FM.
Let's celebrate! He may be Born In The USA but Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are returning to New Zealand in February 2017.
From the Streets of Philadelphia to the stadiums of Christchurch and Auckland.
They'll be dropping shows on February 21 and 25.
Those will definitely be Glory Days on the calendar. Pretty sure there'll be a few couples Dancing In the Dark and a large number of ladies proclaiming I'm On Fire.
