Bay of Plenty blues/roots band Kokomo are celebrating 25 years on the music scene with a double album.
Launched at the weekend, the two-disc box set Batten Down The Hatches explores the band's musical evolution over 33 songs.
The collection was compiled after a series of competitions and polls on Facebook and other media where fans voted for their favourite tracks.
The band also have plans for a book which will include 25 years of photos and memorabilia as well as a live concert DVD.
Formed in 1991 as Kokomo Blues, the band have become festival favourites with 10 albums and a live concert DVD under their belts.
They have played with and supported acts including Georgie Fame, Keb Mo, Buddy Guy, Little Willie Foster and legendary guitarist Amos Garrett.
The double album will be officially released at the end of the month, while the book is due in August.
Car Seat Headrest's album Teens of Denial has had to be tweaked ahead of this week's release date owing to the inclusion of material written by Cars frontman Rik Ocasek.
This has seen the physical release date pushed back till July with vinyl being pulled from shelves.
The digital release will go ahead this week with an alternate cut of the track - originally called Just What I Needed/Not Just What I Needed, and now called Not What I Needed.
Despite seeking licence to use the song months ago, label Matador was only told last week that Ocasek preferred his work not be included in the song.
Car Seat Headrest's Will Toledo said: "Despite the apparent clusterf***, I had fun doing it, and I think it's a stronger song now."
Revisit a classic
The Cars' 1978 self-titled debut stayed on the New Zealand charts for 85 weeks, peaking at No5.
It featured three singles - Just What I Needed, My Best Friend's Girl and Good Times Roll, but other tracks including You're All I've Got Tonight and Bye Bye Love were popular too.
