She is the fair dinkum article, and she's country royalty.
At age 83, you'd think that Loretta Lynn would be satisfied in looking back on her illustrious career as a country music trendsetter and crossover star. But no. Full Circle demonstrates just how remarkable she still is, with a set of songs that show her vocal talents aren't diminished at all.
Full Circle, co-produced by daughter Patsy Lynn Russell and her own best friend's son, John Carter Cash, revisits many of the classic country tunes she originally recorded at Cash Cabin decades ago.
Of the 14 tracks, five are Lynn originals, however one notable omission is her most notable song, Coal Miner's Daughter.
Nonetheless, these are strong performances, added to by the likes of Secret Love, Always on My Mind, Band of Gold, I Never Will Marry, a duet with Elvis Costello on Everything It Takes, another duet with Willie Nelson on Lay Me Down, and a spell-binding take of the traditional In the Pines.
