The fifth annual Tararua Library NZ Children's Book Awards Quiz was held recently, with schools throughout the district entering.
There were 12 teams competing hotly for the title of district champion, and the lead changed several times throughout the 15 rounds of questions, all based on the NZ Post Children's Book Awards finalist books. But in the end, the title was retained by South School (of Dannevirke) who beat Weber School by just one point.
The district champions were awarded individual prizes, plus books for their school library, and possession of the trophy for a year. The highest scoring team from Dannevirke, Woodville, Pahiatua and Eketahuna all received book prizes as well.
